Turkey burgers are our go to burger meat when we are craving hamburgers. Turkey burgers are lighter and tender. They are great with trying out different seasonings too!

I love this ground turkey burger blend because it's settle with a hint of herbs and Worcestershire. I add an egg to our mix as a bind to hold the ingredients together, but I have also tried it without the egg and didn't even tell the difference! So, it's up to you if you want to add the egg or not. I also encourage you to try your favorite herbs.
Turkey Burgers
Yields: 4-5 patties
Marinate time: 30 minutes to overnight
Cook-time: 7-10 minutes per side (depending on your stove)
Ingredients
1 pound unseasoned ground turkey, I use 93% fat free
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp ground paprika
1 tsp oregano
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg (optional)
1/2 cup bread crumbs (or GF bread crumbs)
Directions
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients. You can use your hands, or a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients together until combined.
Cover and let the meat mixture marinate for at least 30 minutes.
When you are ready to heat up your patties, take them out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes.
On a large plate, mold each patty. I usually make them about 5" to 6" in diameter, but I will let you choose how big you want them.
Pre-heat your large skillet pan on medium-high heat. Sprinkled a bit of water into your pan to see if the water sizzles. If the water sizzles, then you know your pan is ready for your patties. Place each patty in the heated pan. They should cook about 7-10 minutes per side, depending on your stove. Keep a splat guard over the pan.
After both sides have been cooked and are a nice dark golden brown, go ahead and add the cheese (if you choose to do this). Turn the heat down on medium-low and let the cheese melt. Turn the stove off and prepare your burgers!
For homemade hamburger buns, check out my recipe found in the "breads" page. They take about 1 hour total to make!
*These patties taste even better on the grill!
