Baking Joy, One Batch at a Time.

Hello, I'm Rose Huxford

I’m a self-taught baker passionate about creating my own recipes featuring vegetables, fruits, and reduced sugar. This journey began unintentionally, sparked by my eldest child, who was an incredibly picky eater from infancy. At that time, I had limited baking skills, juggling three jobs while being a full-time student and a new parent, which made healthy snacks from the store too costly. My husband and I chose not to rely on "healthy" snacks laden with high-fructose corn syrup and excessive fats and sugars. That realization motivated me to learn baking, ensuring my child received the nutritious ingredients he deserved. Seventeen years later, I continue to prepare most of my kids' snacks and treats using my own developed recipes.

Things I Do

Grow a Garden

Growing a mini garden can be so rewarding, and it doesn't need to be very time consuming. To get started, try using plant pots to grow herbs, tomatoes and lettuces.

Baking with kids

Teaching kids how to feel comfortable in a kitchen is important. I like to provide simple recipes for my kids to bake to build their confidence.

Being outdoors

I find that I get most of my ideas while walking my dog. Being amongst trees, tall grass and on trails helps to clear my mind and gather my thoughts.
