Date balls are a staple in my house. As soon as they run out,
I make more as my kids LOVE them as a healthy snack.

Dates are practically natures candy, they are sweet, good for your digestive system and are versatile. Adding in other healthy ingredients can boost their nutritional value making them an all around healthy snack for all ages. These also freeze extremely well and will last for up to 3 months in your freezer!

Date Balls (Gluten Free)
Yields: 24 date balls
Ingredients
16 ounce pitted dates (I like Hadley's dates)
2 tsp honey
2 tbsp nut butter
2 tsp chia seeds
2 tsp hemp seeds
2 tbsp nuts (optional)
2 1/2 tbps unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions
Let's make the first batch. Using half of the container of dates, cut the dates being used in half, then add to a food processor. Pulse until they form a ball. See image above.
Separate the date ball and spread it around inside the food processor. Then, add half of the amount of honey, half of the amount of nut butter, half of the amount of chia seeds, hemp seeds, nuts and cocoa powder. Cover and pulse until you have a fine crumbly mixture.
Then, with clean hands, take out about 1 tablespoon of the date mixture and roll it in the palm of your hands. Place inside a resealable bag, or in a airtight container for up to a week. Enjoy!
