Making a Simple Pear Galette is incredibly easy and requires just a handful of ingredients. I use a store-bought pie crust, Anjou pears, almond milk for the glaze, and roasted hazelnuts, but you can use any nuts. There's no cream filling involved, making it a simple and delicious treat.

In my Simple Pear Galette recipe, I roasted my own hazelnuts, but to save time, you can purchase roasted hazelnuts or other nuts like pecans or walnuts. You can also prepare your own pie crust, but for convenience, I opted for a store-bought one. Pear Galette is ideal as a light dessert with some ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Alternatively, you can enjoy it for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. No matter how you choose to have it, Galette's are wonderful and versatile for any time of the day!
Simple Pear Galette
Yields: 1 Galette
Pre-heat oven: 400 degrees F
Prep-time: 5 minutes
Bake-time: 50-60 minutes
Equipment:
1 pie dish
1 small bowl
Pastry brush
Fork
Paring knife
Cutting board
Cooling rack
Ingredients
1 store bought pie crust, room temperature
3 Anjou pears, thinly sliced
1 cup roasted hazelnuts, chopped
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
1 tbsp Demerara sugar
1 tbsp almond milk, or oat milk, or milk for the glaze
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 400 degree F.
Lightly grease your pie dish with non-stick or some butter.
Lay your pie crust over the pie dish and gently push the center down into the pie dish, use a fork to poke holes on the bottom.
Thinly slice your pears and then arrange them in the pie crust center however you like.
Sprinkle the chopped roasted hazelnuts over the pears and center of the pie crust.
Dust cinnamon over the pears and hazelnuts, then sprinkle some sugar.
Fold and overlap the edges half way, this doesn't need to be perfect, it should look rustic.
Brush some milk over the edges, then sprinkle a bit more sugar.
Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is a rich golden brown and the pears are bubbling.
Allow to cool on a cooling rack for about 15- 20 minutes. Then, enjoy as is, or with some ice cream.
Voila!
